This drawing was a work in progress for quite a while. I've recently finished this drawing and this is the end result. It is a drawing of a horse named Oscar, a Pinto that was owned by my family since he was a "raring to go" young 6 year old. Oscar was smart as a whip, could untie himself and untie my horse Benny so they could both get into mischief. He was excellent at opening latches on feed room doors and knocking over water buckets and eating roses in the landscape! He was easy to bath and let me pick his hooves without being a jerk though so that made up for all of that other stuff he did so well. Actually, Oscar was a great horse that would run till you'd fall off or begged him to stop. He taught me how to stay on a horse who had lots of energy. This drawing is now 11"x14" as I worked a second horse out of the drawing to give Oscar the spotlight.
The face is done with mainly 3X0 and 6X0 for the subtle value changes with veins, shape and bone structure.His body was mostly 3X0 with some 6X0.
