Coast Guard Cutter
"Blackfin"
Original image size 16"X20"
The "Blackfin" is stationed
out of Santa Barbara. She is shown here while tied to the Coast Guard Station
docks in Morro Bay. Behind Blackfin is the famed Morro Rock shrouded in
fog that almost went down to the suface of the sea. I have always loved fog
and foggy ocean images. The day I visited Morro Bay was a perfect summer
day but as you approached the harbor the fog had rolled in and sat keeping
the hot summer sun at bay. Depicting the fog well was a challenge for me
that I felt compelled to create in an art piece. In viewing this work now
finished I feel I had accomplished my goal.
