"Lifeboat"

This is an image of
two of the Coast Guard's Two Motor Lifeboats stationed at Morro Bay, California.
The Bar at the entrance of the harbor causes enough danger to small craft
that these boats are kept at the lifeguard station here to ensure safe traffic
in and out of the harbor. I talked to one of the Coast Guard personnel
there who told me that these boats are ran very hard, offering assistance
to folks who misjudge the bar.
